Coordinating treatment sequences with the other members of the team, including your general dentist and other specialists, has become the hallmark of our practice.

Cristina de las Casas

Office Administrator


Cristina has been an Office Manager with our practice since 1996.  Cristina knows and understands the inner core of our practice and is committed to ensuring that each patient's surgical and administrative needs are met as efficiently and smoothly as possible. She is also the coordinator for the South Florida Dentists in Pursuit of Excellence, our local Seattle Study Club chapter. The Seattle Study Club consists of over 250 active and energetic specialists across the world dedicated to the advancement of team treatment planning and total case management as the ultimate tool for achieving ideal comprehensive care.

Cristina was born in Lima, Peru. She came to South Florida as a student and obtained a degree in accounting from the University of Miami in 1990.  When not at the office, Cristina enjoys spending time with her husband and her three children.


Amelia Orellana

Treatment Coordinator


Amelia, our Front Desk Treatment Coordinator, has been working at Periodontal Solutions of South Florida since 2005. She is responsible for assisting patients with the sequencing of treatment, making financial arrangements and ensuring that medical clearance is obtained prior to the patient’s surgery. Her background in administration enables her to coordinate our patients' treatment efficiently and compassionately. Over the years, she has developed a close relationship with the local dentists and their staff, which allows patients to make the transition from their referring doctor to our practice as seamless as possible.

Amelia was born and raised in California and has been a resident of Miami for the past 18 years. On her spare time, she loves to sing, go to the movies and spend time with her family.


Sharon Narwani

Dental Assistant and Implant Coordinator


Sharon has been a Dental Assistant and Implant Coordinator for our practice since 1986. Her responsibilities include assisting the doctors chairside and overseeing the ordering and purchasing of dental supplies for our practice. Sharon plays a pivotal role in assisting our referring doctors with questions regarding the restoration of dental implants. As a highly experienced surgical assistant, Sharon shares the practice’s commitment to extraordinary patient care and dedication to patient well-being.

Sharon was born in Trinidad and Tobago, raised in New Jersey, and has lived in Miami since 1985. Sharon is a  mother of two, who loves boating, reading, hitting the gym and exploring South Florida’s restaurant scene.  She is also a devoted football fan and tennis aficionado.


Yanelis Perez

Dental Assistant


Yani has been a Dental Assistant with our practice since 2006. She is a highly skilled assistant, possessing 18 years of experience, 8 of which are in the field of periodontal and implant surgery. Her extensive background in dentistry began in 1995 with her work as an orthodontic and general practice assistant. Yani strives to make patients feel comfortable and at ease with her kind and cheerful personality.

Yani was born in Cuba and has lived in Miami since 1981. She is fluent in English and Spanish. When away from the office, she enjoys spending time with her two children and family, traveling and scrap-booking.


Isabel Abolsky

Dental Hygienist


Isabel joined our practice in 1987. She has a genuine sensitivity for patient care and has developed lasting relationships by promoting health and wellness through her work as a dental hygienist. She has been a registered dental hygienist since 1981, when she graduated from the Santa Fe College in Gainseville with an Associate in Science degree in dental hygiene. She is responsible for providing active periodontal treatment to our patients including scaling and root planing procedures and maintenance therapy. Isabel has received training and certification in the administration of local anesthetics and nitrous oxide sedation. She possesses 32 years of experience in the dental field, of which 26 years have been in our practice.

Isabel has lived in Miami since 1983, and is fluent in English and Spanish. When away from the office, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling to various destinations world-wide.


Elena Prieto

Dental Hygienist


Elena has been a dental hygienist with our practice since 2003. Elena graduated from Miami Dade College with an Associates of Science degree in Dental Hygiene in 1988 and has been practicing ever since. She provides periodontal treatment for our patients in the form of scaling and root planing and maintenance care. With over 24 years of experience in both general and periodontal practices, she plays a crucial role in helping our patients establish and maintain optimal oral health. Elena is now certified in the administration of local anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation.

Elena is a first generation American of Spanish heritage. She is fluent in English and Spanish. She was born in Connecticut, but raised in South Florida. When away from work, Elena enjoys spending time with her husband of 24 years and her three sons.


Joan Thomas

Dental Hygienist


Joan became a member of our team in 1997. She acquired her Associate of Science degree in 1995 from Miami Dade College. She provides periodontal maintenance therapy, scaling and root planing procedures and implant care. Joan has a combined 24 years of experience as a hygienist and has worked in both general dentistry and periodontal offices. She makes certain each patient is treated with care and ensures that their needs are addressed to help them maintain a healthy smile that will last a lifetime.

Joan is fluent in English and Spanish, and is certified in nitrous oxide sedation. Joan continues to further her knowledge through yearly CE courses in order to provide her patients with the highest quality of care. When she is not at the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and her two sons.


Carmen R Carnero

Dental Assistant


Carmen is our newest team member. She has been with us for only a few months, but with her warm and cheery personality, she has already made a big impression on our patients. Carmen graduated as a medical assistant and phlebotomy technician in 1994. She obtained her license in dental radiography in 1995. She is a great asset to our team, as she has 18 years of experience in all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery. She takes excellent care of our patients with a kind demeanor and a gentle touch.
She was born in Lima, Peru, and came to the United States in 1987. She is fluent in English and Spanish, and is married with three children, When she is away from the practice, Carmen enjoys gardening, cooking and singing karaoke.
