Cristina de las Casas
Cristina has been an Office Manager with our practice since 1996. Cristina knows and understands the inner core of our practice and is committed to ensuring that each patient's surgical and administrative needs are met as efficiently and smoothly as possible. She is also the coordinator for the Pursuit of Excellence Study Club, our local Seattle Study Club chapter. The Seattle Study Club consists of over 250 active and energetic specialists across the world dedicated to the advancement of team treatment planning and total case management as the ultimate tool for achieving ideal comprehensive care.
Cristina was born in Lima, Peru. She came to South Florida as a student and obtained a degree in accounting from the University of Miami in 1990. When not at the office, Cristina enjoys spending time with her husband and her three children.
Lisa Berry-Wensveen, RDH
Lisa joined the practice in June of 2017. The daughter of a periodontist, Lisa graduated with her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene from Sinclair Community College in Ohio in 1997. She obtained her Dental Hygiene License in Florida the same year. After practicing clinically for 10 years in a restorative practice, she began to also serve as the treatment coordinator and patient facilitator. She has since obtained her local anesthesia certification, nutrition coaching certification, and Bachelor’s Degree in Technical and Applied Studies from Ohio University. She is currently applying her many years of dental and facilitation knowledge as our treatment coordinator to assist patients in scheduling, coordinating appointments with other offices, and answering clinical questions they may have regarding their treatment. A life-long learner, she is constantly working to expand her knowledge base in many arenas. When she is not at the office, she enjoys reading, yoga, traveling with her husband, and any activity outdoors.
Dental Assistant and Implant Coordinator
Sharon has been a Dental Assistant and Implant Coordinator for our practice since 1986. Her responsibilities include assisting the doctors chairside and overseeing the ordering and purchasing of dental supplies for our practice. Sharon plays a pivotal role in assisting our referring doctors with questions regarding the restoration of dental implants. As a highly experienced surgical assistant, Sharon shares the practice’s commitment to extraordinary patient care and dedication to patient well-being.
Sharon was born in Trinidad and Tobago, raised in New Jersey, and has lived in Miami since 1985. Sharon is a mother of two, who loves boating, reading, hitting the gym and exploring South Florida’s restaurant scene. She is also a devoted football fan and tennis aficionado.
Carolina has been a dental assistant since 1998. She has 20 years of periodontal surgery and general dentistry experience. She brings many years of chair side surgical assisting and is well versed and cross trained in front office responsibilities as well. She is certified in taking digital x-rays. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
Carolina was born in Bogota, Colombia and raised in Long Island, New York. She moved to Miami in 2001. She enjoys spending quality time with her husband and 2 children. She also enjoys going to baseball and football games with her family.
With 20 plus years of experience, Maria wants to ensure that our patients always feel comfortable when coming to our office. Her gentle demeanor & great personal skills have made her stand out in her field. She has been living in Miami for over 25 years & is highly experienced in Oral & Maxillofacial surgeries as well as Periodontics.
Maria was born in San Cristobal, Venezuela. She came to South Florida wanting to obtain a better life for her and her only daughter at the time. She did just that by obtaining her degree from Robert Morgan Educational Center in Dental Assisting. When she's not working, Maria is either home with her youngest daughter spending quality time teaching her delicious recipes or enjoying the company of her nieces and nephews at family gatherings.
Isabel Abolsky, RDH
Isabel joined our practice in 1987. She has a genuine sensitivity for patient care and has developed lasting relationships by promoting health and wellness through her work as a dental hygienist. She has been a registered dental hygienist since 1981, when she graduated from the Santa Fe College in Gainseville with an Associate in Science degree in dental hygiene. She is responsible for providing active periodontal treatment to our patients including scaling and root planing procedures and maintenance therapy. Isabel has received training and certification in the administration of local anesthetics and nitrous oxide sedation. She possesses 32 years of experience in the dental field, of which 26 years have been in our practice.
Isabel has lived in Miami since 1983, and is fluent in English and Spanish. When away from the office, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling to various destinations world-wide.
Elena Prieto, RDH
Elena has been a dental hygienist with our practice since 2003. Elena graduated from Miami Dade College with an Associates of Science degree in Dental Hygiene in 1988 and has been practicing ever since. She provides periodontal treatment for our patients in the form of scaling and root planing and maintenance care. With over 24 years of experience in both general and periodontal practices, she plays a crucial role in helping our patients establish and maintain optimal oral health. Elena is now certified in the administration of local anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation.
Elena is a first generation American of Spanish heritage. She is fluent in English and Spanish. She was born in Connecticut, but raised in South Florida. When away from work, Elena enjoys spending time with her husband of 24 years and her three sons.
Joan Thomas, RDH
Joan became a member of our team in 1997. She acquired her Associate of Science degree in 1995 from Miami Dade College. She provides periodontal maintenance therapy, scaling and root planing procedures and implant care. Joan has a combined 24 years of experience as a hygienist and has worked in both general dentistry and periodontal offices. She makes certain each patient is treated with care and ensures that their needs are addressed to help them maintain a healthy smile that will last a lifetime.
Joan is fluent in English and Spanish, and is certified in the administration of local anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation. Joan continues to further her knowledge through yearly CE courses in order to provide her patients with the highest quality of care. When she is not at the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and her two sons.
